Tiruvallur district collector T Prabhu Shankar has informed the Madras High Court about the steps taken against companies evading property tax in Thodukadu village panchayat. The collector initiated necessary action to impose penalties on the defaulting companies. This announcement came during the hearing of a contempt of court petition filed before Justice N Anand Venkatesh.

The district administration (Tiruvallur Collector) has tasked the block development officer with collecting property tax from the defaulting companies, already imposing penalties. The collector emphasized that legal action would follow if the companies fail to comply with the tax obligations.

The contempt of court petition was filed by Venkatesan, president of Thodukadu village panchayat. Advocate VS Suresh, representing him, emphasized the issue.
